Hey hey!
I’m finally linking up with Kacey @ Doodle Bugs Teaching again for her Five for Friday!


 It has been way too long but I finally have 5 random photos to share! Here we go 😉



This past Monday was Thanksgiving Day in Canada so we read “The Thankful Book” by Todd Parr and we brainstormed all the things we were thankful for.  

Then the students worked with me to write their sentence and with my ECE to create this turkey craft.  Of course each student got their own face to stick on their own turkey 😉  


In writer’s workshop we formally introduced finger spaces and I made these minion finger spacers to encourage kids to use finger spaces more often in their writing.  

They.went.insane.  

I knew one of my little kiddos was obsessed with minions but the whole class loved these!! I just used popsicle sticks, tempera paint, googly eyes, hot glue, flair pens and a little bit of glitter to make these.  The glitter won’t stay for long.. but it will be pretty while it lasts 😉


A easy peasy centre I whipped up one morning (I saw the idea on Pinterest a long time ago but I can’t remember the website… if this is your idea let me know so I can give you credit!) was this upper-case, lower-case matching game on geoboards.  It was a surprising hit and one of my kiddos asked for it to be out again tomorrow.  

Music to my ears.  

All I needed was circle labels (I already had some that I bought at Dollarama last year).  I wrote the letters on them with sharpie stuck them to the geoboards and they were ready to go!



A math centre I set out this week was this clothes pin number match.  I hot glued the numbers on the clothes pin.  The kids counted the dots and clipped the number that matched on the rectangle.  I love incorporating fine motor activities into my literacy and numeracy centres whenever I can!

I opened up my new halloween sparkly coloured pom poms (sparkly pom poms are one of my FAVOURITE things!) and had the kids sort them into the clear cups with metal tongs.  The kids loved this new twist on sorting and I was able to assess lots of sorting skills at this table.  The metal tongs made it a great fine motor activity as well!
