Meet Yukari

Hi, I’m Yukari 👋

I help Kindergarten teachers plan developmentally appropriate, Ontario-aligned math and literacy — without spending hours creating everything from scratch.

After 7 years teaching in high-needs classrooms, I know how overwhelming it can feel to meet a wide range of needs while still trying to stay organized, intentional, and aligned with the curriculum.

That’s why I create hands-on, play-based resources with clear structure — so you can feel confident in what you’re teaching and actually have time left in your day.

My Story

I spent 7 years teaching Kindergarten in high-needs schools, supporting students with a wide range of learning needs, behaviours, and abilities.

I loved the classroom — but I also know how hard it can be to:

  • plan meaningful centres
  • differentiate for multiple learners
  • stay aligned with the Ontario curriculum
  • and still have a life outside of teaching

So I started creating the kinds of resources I wish I had:

✔ Simple to prep
✔ Easy to implement
✔ Structured, but still play-based
✔ Designed for real classrooms

Those resources eventually became what is now A Pinch of Kinder.

What I Create

Everything I create is designed to help you plan less and teach more.

You’ll find:

  • Hands-on math and literacy centres
  • Year-long programs with a clear scope & sequence
  • Digital + printable resources for flexible use
  • Seasonal and themed activities that still support real learning

My goal is always the same:
👉 Make your planning easier while supporting meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning.

What Makes A Pinch of Kinder Different

There are a lot of Kindergarten resources out there — here’s what makes mine different:

Developmentally appropriate (no jumping straight into abstraction)
Play-based, but structured — so learning is intentional
Designed for real classrooms (including high-needs + mixed ability)
Ontario-aligned, including updates for the 2026 curriculum

A Note on the 2026 Ontario Curriculum

If you’re feeling unsure about the new curriculum — you’re not alone.

I’ve gone through the updates line-by-line and am actively updating my resources to reflect what actually changed (and what didn’t).

My Mission

Kindergarten should be play-based, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate — but it should also feel clear and manageable to teach.

My mission is to help teachers find that balance.

I design resources that combine:

  • Play-based learning
  • Clear structure and progression
  • Practical, real-classroom implementation

So you can feel confident that:

👉 You’re covering what matters
👉 Your students are making real progress
👉 And your planning actually feels sustainable

Because you shouldn’t have to choose between
engaging learning and intentional teaching — you can have both.
