A Pinch of Kinder Favicon

Monday Made It: July 11, 2016

Hi guys!
I’m linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for her Monday Made It linky!
Here are the projects I completed this past week!

Updated Teaching Portfolio

I always update my teaching portfolio at the beginning of my summer break because as an LTO, summer time also means interview season!
I enjoy taking time to redo my portfolio every year. It helps me reflect on my strengths and needs and next steps for the coming school year.
Here are a few pictures of my updated portfolio:

The pages I included are:
About Me
Classroom Management
Comprehensive Literacy
Assessment
Planning
Comprehensive Numeracy
The Third Teacher
Play-Based Learning
Inquiry
Home-School Connection
Technology
Special Education
Next Steps
I made an editable version and posted it to TPT so that you can make your own too if you are interviewing this summer like me!

Life Planner: Summer 2016
I needed something to keep me accountable and help me map out my summer goals & to-do lists so I made this life planner for the summer!

It starts with “Summer Goals” and then I break them down into “July To-Do’s” and “August To-Do’s”. I also have a page of weekly to-do’s for reoccurring chores like collecting garbage or washing towels.
Then I put in a calendar for July and August/September to write in major events like birthdays, vacations etc.
Then I have these daily pages from July 7th to September 5th (The day I made this planner to the end of my summer break) to help me keep track of what I accomplish and how much time I am spending on each task.
The planner also includes these pages:
– Cover
– Colour-Coding Legend
– Summer Goals
– July To-Do’s
– August To-Do’s
– Weekly To-Do’s
– Monthly Calendar for July and August
– Daily Calendar from July 7th to September 5th
– Misc. Notes (Lined Pages)
– My Doodles (Blank Pages)

Sight Word Rings • A Differentiated Take-Home Program
Last Thursday I sat down and finally put together a pack for my sight word rings! I use this program as a supplement to my home reading program. It has editable pages as well so that you can customize the parent letter, ring covers, flash cards, sight word tracker etc!
The preview in TPT has a detailed explanation on how I use this resource in my classroom.
You can see it on TPT by clicking here or on the images below:
Guest Room Basket

My guest room basket was looking a little sad and it was still just a plastic dollar store bin I had pulled out of my closet in a pinch when my sister came to visit this past winter so I decided to finally re-do it this week!
I got the basket {on sale!} at Pier 1 Imports and hand lettered “be our guest” with this chalk marker.

Here is a look at everything that is in the basket! I tried to think of what I would want most if I was staying over at a friend’s house.
Top to bottom, left to right: face towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wi-fi info card, shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, dry shampoo, body wash, soap, deodorant, advil, pads, razors, tissue paper, cleansing wipes, tampons, granola bars.
You can download the free wi-fi info card printable by clicking on the image below:
That’s it from me this week!
I’m hoping to post every week to keep myself accountable for keeping up with my summer projects!
See you next week!
