Give your Kindergarten students hands-on practice segmenting, spelling and encoding short-vowel CVC words with these low-prep stamping worksheets!

Students name each picture, use the word bank for support and stamp the beginning, medial and ending letters into the three boxes. A second version titled “CVC Read & Write” allows students to complete the same activities with a pencil or marker instead of alphabet stamps.

Use the word bank as a visual support or cover it when students are ready to encode the words independently.

Two Activity Formats:

1. CVC Stamping
Students use alphabet stamps to encode each picture-supported CVC word.

2. CVC Read & Write
Students write the letters in the boxes using a pencil, marker or other writing tool.
The picture prompts and word sets are the same in both formats.

How to use:

1. Select a short-vowel or mixed CVC worksheet.
2. Students name the first picture.
3. They find the corresponding word in the word bank.
4. Students stretch out the word and identify its three sounds.
5. They stamp or write one letter in each box.
6. Repeat with the remaining three pictures.

Keep the word bank visible for additional support or cover it to increase the level of challenge.

Alphabet stamps, ink pads, pencils and markers are not included.
