Numbers to 10 Kindergarten Math Lessons | Google Slides™

Teaching numbers to 10 at the beginning of the year builds the foundation for everything that comes next in Kindergarten math.

These no-prep, interactive Google Slides™ lessons are designed for explicit whole-group instruction to help students build strong number sense through clear routines, hands-on thinking, and repeated practice — without adding extra prep to your day.

Simply project the slides on your SMARTBoard or classroom screen and teach.

Why These Lessons Were Created:

In many Kindergarten classrooms, number instruction used to focus on quick introductions and anchor charts, with additional support provided later in small groups.

Over the past several years, many educators have noticed students needing slower, more explicit instruction with foundational math skills. These lessons were created to support that shift — helping students build confidence and understanding right from the beginning of the year.

The lessons are intentionally designed to:

  • support multiple learning styles
  • build strong number sense foundations
  • encourage active participation
  • provide predictable routines that help students feel successful

How the Lessons Are Designed:

Each number lesson follows a consistent, developmentally appropriate routine to support engagement, confidence, and early number understanding.

The lessons are flexible and easy to customize — use all the slides or remove slides to keep lessons shorter and focused, especially at the beginning of the school year.
