Digital Valentine’s Day Activities | Kindergarten Google Slides Math & Literacy

Make Valentine’s Day learning fun and interactive with these digital Valentine’s Day activities for Kindergarten! This resource includes engaging literacy and math activities designed for Google Slides™.

Students will practise letter formation, beginning sounds, syllables, rhyming, high-frequency words, counting, sorting, patterns, measurement, ordinal numbers and more—all with a fun Valentine’s Day theme!

Literacy Activities:

Valentine Letter Building
Students watch the animated demonstration to see how each letter is formed and then use the Valentine’s Day pictures to build the letter. They can also practise reading the simple sentence on each slide.
Letters included: H, V, C, F and B

Valentine Beginning Sounds
Students name each picture, identify its beginning sound and drag the correct letter tile into the blank.
Includes 12 Valentine’s Day words. Two versions are provided for words with two beginning sounds, such as “teddy bear.”

Clap and Cover Syllables
Students name each Valentine’s Day picture, clap the syllables and cover the correct number to show how many syllables are in the word.
Includes 2 slides with 6 words per slide.

Rhyming Love Bugs
Students name the picture on one wing of the love bug and drag the rhyming picture onto the other wing.
Includes 5 slides.

Chocolate High-Frequency Words
Students read the word on the lid of the chocolate box and use the chocolate letters to build the word inside the box.
Words included: a, I, like, the, see, can, this, is, we, to, my, me, be, with, play, little, where, said, up, love, you and in

 

Math Activities:

How Many?
Students count the Valentine’s Day pictures and drag the correct number into each box. Numbers 1–10 are included.

Valentine Card Decorating
Students read the number and decorate the Valentine’s Day card with the corresponding number of digital stickers.
Numbers 1–10 are included.

Decorate a Valentine Cookie
Students use the digital shapes to decorate a Valentine’s Day cookie. They then count how many of each shape they used and type the numbers into the corresponding boxes. Shapes included: heart, triangle, trapezoid and pentagon

Valentine Sorting
Students sort Valentine’s Day pictures by:

• Colour: red or pink
• Shape: heart or not a heart
• Size: small or big

Valentine Patterns
Students identify and extend each pattern by dragging the correct Valentine’s Day pictures onto the line.
Patterns included: AB, ABB, AAB, ABC and ABCD

Create a Valentine Pattern
Students use the movable Valentine’s Day pictures to create their own repeating patterns.
Includes 4 slides with different sets of pictures.

Valentine Measurement
Students measure each Valentine’s Day picture using the digital non-standard measurement tool provided. They then type the measurement into the box to complete the sentence.
Includes 6 measurement activities:

• Measure Cupid with hearts
• Measure the cupcake with cubes
• Measure the mouse with hearts
• Measure the ice cream with counting bears
• Measure the balloon with buttons
• Measure the letter with hearts

Valentine Ordinal Numbers
Students follow the directions to place the hearts in the correct order, such as: “Put 5 hearts on the line. The 2nd heart must be pink.”
Two versions are included using numerals and words, such as “2nd” and “second,” so you can select the version that works best for your students.
